The fine folks from Facebook, while dealing with a lawsuit from the people behind ConnectU, is now facing a new patent infringement lawsuit from Cross Atlantic Capital Partners. What’s the patent? Well, as outlined here, the patent was for a “System for creating a community for users with common interests to interact in.” And yes, that patent was approved, in 2003.
All you people out there planning a backyard barbecue party this weekend for your friends and family had better watch yourself — your shindig may be violating this patent! And don’t even think about attending a wedding or birthday party in the near future.
